Collaboration’s Role in NEPA Compliance

Collaboration supports full compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). But NEPA practitioners have often ignored this potential link between collaboration and NEPA. Their view was that the routine NEPA scoping notices were an adequate substitute for effective collaboration with interested and affected parties.

We believe participants who successfully complete the program will have a solid understanding of both the spirit and the letter of the law, and will be more effective members of interdisciplinary teams responsible for developing NEPA documents. Continuing Education in Ecosystem Management (CEEM) offered by Utah State University
This highly successful program prepares natural resource professionals to meet the challenges of implementing ecosystem management. Participants gain an understanding of how the human dimension, ecology, and economics function and interact, and apply this understanding in ecosystem and landscape management. Learning is in an interdisciplinary environment and the intended audience is natural resource professionals from all disciplines involved in wildland management. The program consists of three separate short-courses, each course is two weeks in duration, the first one will begin in October.
